At Enviropass Expertise Inc., integrity and ethical behavior are at the heart of our operations. This Code of Business Conduct outlines the principles and standards that guide our actions, ensuring compliance with laws and fostering trust with stakeholders. In addition, our Impartiality Policy reinforces our commitment to objectivity, independence, and transparency in all laboratory and compliance activities, safeguarding the credibility of our services.

It applies to all employees, partners, and representatives, emphasizing honesty, fairness, and accountability in every decision. By upholding these values, we protect our reputation and build lasting relationships.

RESPECT

Enviropass Expertise commits to complying with relevant labour laws, including anti-slavery, human trafficking, and minimum standards.

We promote “respect” in all our interactions. We create an environment where our employees can voice their opinions and be heard.

We respect the confidentiality and privacy of our customers. Confidential information will not be disclosed to third parties and we ensure the protection of our customers’ intellectual property.

HARASSMENT

Enviropass Expertise does not accept any form of harassment. We require respectful communication among our employees and customers.

DISCRIMINATION

Enviropass Expertise’s compensation and employment-related decisions are strictly based on merit. We do not consider the candidates’ race, sex, religion nor ethnicity, as per the Labour & Employment Law.

INTEGRITY

As an environmental compliance auditing company, integrity is the foundation of our business.

We take pride in the integrity of our work, which embodies trust, honesty, and transparency. Our employees are trained by a certified environmental auditor (CEA), a member of the Quebec Association of Environmental Auditing. The association requires strict adherence to its Code of Good Practice, which includes integrity and objectivity.

CONFLICT OF INTEREST

At Enviropass Expertise, we prohibit the interference of our private interests with our business activities. Any potential conflict of interest will be disclosed to the parties involved.

BRIBERY AND CORRUPTION

Enviropass Expertise does not tolerate bribery and corruption. We respect the anti-bribery and corruption laws imposed by the government.

Impartiality policy of Enviropass

Enviropass Expertise Inc. (“Enviropass”) is the legal entity responsible for all laboratory activities. All references to “Enviropass” in this policy apply exclusively to this legal entity.

At Enviropass, we recognize the critical importance of impartiality in all aspects of our laboratory operations. Our team, including ISO/IEC 17025-accredited subcontractors, is fully committed to maintaining objectivity, transparency, and independence throughout every stage of our work. To ensure impartiality is upheld and demonstrated, Enviropass adheres to the following principles:

Commitment to Impartiality

  • Project reports are released only after review and approval by an authorized individual.
  • Enviropass has no affiliations with consulting firms or service providers that could compromise our independence.
  • All teammates and subcontractors must disclose any past or present situations that may pose a conflict of interest. Such cases are reviewed, and involvement is only permitted if impartiality can be objectively demonstrated.
  • No team member is recruited without a thorough review and verification of their professional background.
  • Enviropass does not offer or accept referral commissions or inducements unless fully documented, recorded, and traceable.
  • Our services are obligations of means (e.g., material testing) and not of results (e.g., we cannot guarantee compliance before testing).
  • Teammate must not be subjected to any pressure or influence that could impact the integrity of test results.

Impartiality Safeguards and Actions

To protect and reinforce our impartiality, Enviropass has implemented the following measures:

  • We do not hire individuals with close relatives working in the laboratory.
  • All staff must comply with accreditation requirements (e.g., AQVE) and internal policies, such as the Enviropass Code of Business Conduct.
  • Any professional acting in conflict with applicable laws or internal policies will face appropriate disciplinary action, up to dismissal.
  • Teammates are strictly prohibited from engaging in personal financial transactions with customers or subcontractors.
  • All personnel are required to report any situation that may compromise business ethics.
  • Workload distribution considers the time necessary for thorough and accurate testing.
  • Any unethical conduct must be reported promptly to the Quality Manager.
  • Gifts from customers or subcontractors exceeding $60 CAD are not permitted.
  • Teammates must not conduct assessment for a customer if a family member or close relative holds a decision-making position within that organization.
  • Top management must be informed of any outside professional activities of Enviropass personnel.
  • Enviropass operates as a fully independent, self-financed organization, with multiple controls in place to preserve impartiality.
  • All assessments are based on objective evidence and are free from external influence.

Identified Threats to Impartiality

Enviropass is aware of and actively manages the following potential threats:

  • Self-interest: When decisions benefit an individual personally.
  • Self-review: When an individual is involved in assessing their own work.
  • Familiarity: When personal relationships could cloud objective judgment.
